THE PERSON BEHIND SPROHello, I’m
Alessandro.
I’m a German-Canadian developer and the person behind Sprout Pool. You might also know me from my Cardano videos.
I was born in Hanau, Germany, and moved to Vancouver with my family in 2009. I initially studied engineering before finding my way into web development. I graduated from BCIT’s Digital Design and Development program in 2018.
My background is in backend development. I began working at Convertus Digital in 2018, with experience managing the infrastructure that served vehicle inventory data to more than 1,000 dealership websites.
I became interested in cryptocurrency in 2018. Cardano’s careful, research-driven approach drew me in, and I started Sprout to contribute to the network and help others understand it.

Does Sprout get access to my ADA?
No. Delegation assigns staking rights to a pool; it does not transfer your ADA to the operator. Never send ADA to someone claiming it is required to delegate, and never share your recovery phrase.
Will I earn rewards every epoch?
Not necessarily. Small pools can have epochs with no assigned blocks. Rewards depend on blocks produced, pool performance, stake, and network rules. There is no guaranteed return.
What does the pool fee mean?
The margin is a percentage of pool rewards. The fixed pool cost is taken from a rewarded epoch’s pool rewards before the rest is distributed. It is not a fixed charge billed separately to every delegator. Check current parameters on an independent explorer.
Can I change my delegation later?
Yes. You can choose another pool through your wallet. Delegation and reward changes follow Cardano’s epoch timing, so they do not all take effect immediately.
